Mar 2, 2010, Things not Say....

Have you been playing a game and your mother tells you its time to get off?

Or maybe it was your wife or girlfriend telling you it's time for bed. Well here few things not to say.

1. "I will sleep when I'm dead." You will regret this one.

2. "I'm saving the world" (of warcraft in a whisper). They heard it, now you'll be saving your tail.

3. "But I need to feed my character".They know its not alive, so it won't work.

Feb 26, 2010, Lets Talk Balance Rant

I don't know if you have noticed but many of the mmorpg games are quite unbalanced.

There is all ways at least 2 chars that are well a lot easier to play, almost like having a I Win button. And then there is that one class that really could use some help.

Then there is always the nerf bat, they take to the classes but they don't stop and think how much and to what classes they need it on, they just start whacking away.

This class doesn't need spells, armor, or weapons... OOPs! They took it to far, then their fix is always the same way as well. Ok this caster can now wear plate do a gazillion dmg with this instant spell that has a 2000000000 mile range on it... Ummm OOPs again.

You would think they would think before going nerf crazy.

So this is a suggestion To all you nerf crazy mmorpg's. First listen to the gamers that PAY TO PLAY your game not just your employees.

Second when you do decide to do a nerf do it in SMALL increments, that way you can find the balance instead of just guessing.

Third is remember it's a game that you are providing to paying costumers, to many mistakes and some of those paying players are gonna say "forget this crud" and end their subscription to the game.

This is a big one if you do some changes that can affect a class give them a chance to redo their char for free rather than make them pay to re-spec the char.

Basically I say THINK before you do stupid stuff.

Feb 24, 2010, Blizzard OnceAgain

So love is in the air festival ends, and if you were like me you might have bought a ton of the colognes or perfumes, because they stacked with with all the buffs and potions to use through out the rest of the year. Then you got on yesterday and POOF, they were all gone.

With a nice little message from Blizzard saying that it wasn't there intent for those things to be able to be around forever but supposed to have a time duration on them. Yet they didn't have that in there description.

Nice Blizz remove YOUR screw up but don't compensate for it Again. What you could have done to make it a bit easier than just removing it was add a 10 day timer to them after the fact at least then players would have gotten some use from them.

Once again its about Blizzard and what they meant to do but didn't.

So once again we got blizzard.

Feb 5, 2010, Dont get camped by a troll!!

So I am on WoW last night Finishing up a few quests that are in one of the major city's when this conversation starts off.

What the conversation was about isn't important the intent is. One player was trying to get a angry response out of other players which he was able too.

At first it was kinda funny, then got annoying because the person who was being camped didn't get it that he was being camped. What made it worse was soon more people added in and soon this troll had gotten what he wanted.

At least 6 players were now arguing with 1 player that was just trolling to entertain themselves.

If you want to play with a troll you need to be smarter than they are if they are making you angry they have one, If you can turn it around and make them angry you win, But if you just stop responding then everyone one wins cuz they don't have to listen too a conversation that never needed to happen

Jan 31, 2010, Why politicians Dont play MMORPG's

4 .They cant tax your xp to level there own characters.

3. They Do not think its fair that they have no say in how the game is played by you.

2. They can't lie there way out of not being defeated by the opposing faction.

1. None of them actually know how to work a computer.

Jan 19, 2010, What it takes for a Raid

You see it all the time looking for a non fail raid. When I see this makes me laugh. This person may be looking for a free run. Learning a raid is part of the game and failing is bound to happen.

Raid guilds will even tell you that at the beginning of any new raid there going be a lot of failing till its figured out. Even then it is going to take several attempts to get it so a raid can just blow right threw it.

So what does it take? Good players sure takes good players but that's not most important. What is the most important is the willingness to try over and over and over till your raid figures it out.

Dec 19, 2009, Why arn't there any reindeer games?

So there I am laying in bed when Rudolph the red nose reindeer song pops in my head and I realized I don't know what reindeer games are. Do they not make Video Games for Santa's reindeer? If they do what types do they play? And how?

Yep I just don't know. But i figure they play on a mat kinda like the one you use for most dance games. That's if they have Video Games. If they play online games how do they communicate with other players? Do they talk?

Ohh well guess I will continue to ponder this on my own.

Happy Holidays and

Dec 17, 2009, Richie's Tips - Healer

This is a tip for all you healers out there. Remain calm even when things look bad. When you remain calm you will often times heal through the worst possible circumstances. Example Tank at 5% of his health, only you and another alive and boss is at 30% health.

Where if you panic chances are its going to be a group wipe. So stay calm and cool headed. After a few of these miracle saves Players will recognize your skills.

Dec 15, 2009, Reason's Why Santa Doesn't Play PvP

Ever wonder why Santa Clause never plays PvP well I found out why.

1. PKing (player killing) gets you on the naughty list.

2. Last time he tried he got so excited he dumped his milk on the keyboard and had to have the elfs make him a new one.

3. His I W.I.N. button is broken.

4. Besides he just wouldn't have enough room on the naughty list for all the people who beat him in PvP..

Happy Holidays.

Dec 8, 2009, Got Blizzard Agian!!

If you thought you were gonna hop on WoW on time today to play Guess what its not happening, Many players I know have been trying to get on but cant the reason why? No one knows why cuz blizzard hasn't said what it is, We all know it has to do with the patch and most of us pay our money to play yet here again Blizz has decided to take the money and well make us wait to play AGAIN.

Lets figure this out 1 day of maintenance a week, we lose several hours then often that gets screwed up so we paying them to screw up? looks like they say we be done by such and such but how often are they?

Blizz makes a good game don't get me wrong but it seems they are getting worse about there screw ups and the game is getting bugger. It be nice for them to say " You know we are sorry that we screwed up missed our dead line so here is ..." it could be a free month, free virtual items like emblems if it wasn't bad. The free month could be if they messed it up like 5 or 6 times during the year really bad like today.

Other wise why not compensate the players with some extra gold in there bags or few triumphs that they may have gotten during the time of your major time screw up.

It might just show that you actually care about your players. If not who know how many more times before players Go "Sick of this .... I'm out" and quit your bottom line may get hit just cuz you screwed up Again.

Rant done.

Dec 1, 2009, Best game Complement you could get

Often when one plays MMORPG's where there are more than one realm, Like WoW where you fight against other players you get into a mode, that they are the enemy and are real jerks.

Then all of a sudden you get a private message from them thanking you on a great fight, and that they hope you have a great day. Of course this is a great complement, even when they add in Next time tho I will be the victor.

Nov 20, 2009, A Hunting We May Go

So there is your target Four low level players. Easy picking to defeat and then laugh at for your level 50 or 60ish character.

Wait!!! Are you sure you want to attack them? Will that be the smart thing to do?

Before you just jump some lowbie chars you should have a plan of escape. Also you should look at there gear.

Example. Cloth wearing alt chars in WoW Wear a distinct cloth armor that is Bind to Account once there mains are pretty geared out. Same with weapons.

You may want to think twice before jumping one of these lowbies if you see them wearing that. If you don't you may find yourself being camped for a very long time, especially if you decided to camp there lowbies.

Often than not if they are in a group one or 2 will hang back letting you camp while one or 2 of the others gets there main.

So remember its your own darn fault if you get camped if you attack the wrong person.

Nov 1, 2009, Guest blog - To Uninstall, or NOT to Uninstall, that is the question.

Having recently canceled my World of Warcraft subscription, and it expiring a few days later, I was left with the age old question. "Should I uninstall WoW from my computer?"

The answer to this question is not easy to come to. Several factors should influence the answer to this question. Do I need the hard drive space for other things? Will uninstalling it speed up, or slow down, my computer's performance? Will I return to the game at a later date (within reason) to warrant the uninstallation, and re-installation hassle (more on this later)?

I have a 1 Terabyte drive, so storage space for me at the moment, is not a huge concern. Will uninstalling it help my system performance? Maybe, maybe not. If I do uninstall it, you bet your sweet behind I'd be to defragmenting my computer's hard drive when I go to bed that night (just to ensure it'll boost performance).

Uninstalling WoW is easy. However, coming back to it is such a pain is it even worth re-installing? Last time I reinstalled it, it took me well into 4 hours or so. This is no exaggeration. I had downloaded it, went to install it, and when it completed, it had an error AT THE END OF IT!!! And that was just for the original WoW, not the expansion packs. After getting that resolved, I had to install the original WoW. That completed, THEN it had to update/patch. And it had to do (rough example), Patch 1 to Patch 2, Patch 2 to Patch 3. There was no Patch 1 through 3. It had to do each Patch concurrent to each other. THEN you have to do the SAME thing for EACH expansion pack (currently 2 at the moment, Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King).

Bottom line, if I uninstall it, it will be the final answer as to my ever going back to Azeroth. So as of this moment, I'm not going to uninstall it. Just in case I get the urge to go back to it. Should you, the reader, uninstall it? That's entirely up to you. Just remember, its easy to uninstall, but Blizzard makes it a pain to go back to (but easy for them to take your money). They like the money part ~Supa

Supa is right its about you making the decision, and if you want to quit its best to uninstall the game.

Oct 20, 2009, Guest Blogger Part 1

Guest blogger today ( IT's Supa YEA) and its set up so you can just read it straight down.

So this site's administrator/moderator tracked me down, cornered me. Beat me up, and took my lunch money. If that wasn't bad enough, he made me write this.

Well, that's not quite exactly what happened, but who remembers much after waking up and seeing a computer screen and keyboard in front of you? Although it is probably close to what happened.

So I'm just going to ramble on about my past week or so of gaming. Well let me see,, I cancelled my subscription to the most well known, and most popular MMORPG out there. Yes, World of Warcraft. This will be my third time canceling the account. The last time I cancelled it, I told myself the only way I'd start playing again is if some friends of mine came from another MMORPG and started playing it. At the time, it was a kind of, "When hell freezes over" deal. Or so I had thought. So they started playing, I dusted off my characters, started playing again. Ten months later, the game got boring for me... again.

Not boring as in I didn't have anything to do. Sure as having a level 80 character in the game (highest level), the work doesn't stop there. I use the word "work" because at some point while being level 80 on that game, you feel like you have to do a LOT of work to get the items you want. Other players in the game that have the coolest, neatest weapons, that do the most damage spend a LOT of time "working" towards that goal.

Oct 20, 2009, Guest Blog part 2

I don't have the time, or energy, to spend in this game, doing what is necessary to become the best player I can be. The game gets to the point to where it’s not worth it. It also is not worth me paying $15 a month to do. My energy, and money is worth more elsewhere. Is it a fun game to play? Yes, but for a while.

This past week, instead of playing WoW, I either played my old Playstation 2, or watched movies/tv. I played "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed". I originally bought it for my kids from a game store in used condition. Figured, "Its less than $20 bucks, if the kids play it, it’s worth it." I tried it out, and played it about 10 game hours (about 3 hours of it were paused), and completed/finished/beat it. Was it fun? Not really. It was more aggravating than anything. If you want to know how it is, check the review sites online. I'm not going to get into it right now. Only reason I played it was for the storyline (which it had a decent one), but I'm glad the game was as short as it was. Otherwise, I would have stopped playing it out of frustration and not given a dang about the story.

Was it worth $20? You can rent 4 movies, and get more storyline out of them, than you could this game. Would they be as fun? Meh, maybe not. The coolest part was using "The Force" in so many ways, but the game was filled with too many bugs to make it possible, let alone fun. So much promise, yet so much disappointment with it. This is one of those games that you play once, and are glad you played it, just so you get the story from it, and that you'll never have to play it again. Unless they make a sequel, which I hope to God they're not planning on doing (but I know they are). Dipweeds. But that's ok. Because I will have learned from my mistake, and next time, I will not buy the game. At least not until it goes to the under $20 used rack.

Thnx Supa Now get writing another blog.... Umm noone saw that.
