The GW 2 Engineer is the one class that I believe many players will...
be surprised how much fun this profession is. The Guild Wars 2 Engineer is probably the most versatile of all the classes, this also makes them one of the hardest to master.
The engineer is a Adventurer type which means medium armor is the best they can use which give some ok damage reduction, but if I was you I still wouldn't want to take a hit.
You may notice a HUGE lack in weapons they can use, Do not be fooled by this, their is a reason why they don't have many weapons, or the ability to weapon switch like other Professions. its all based in there skills.
The Guild Wars 2 Engineer like i said earlier is a utility class more so than any other class in the game, they have the ability to heal, crowed control and do lots of damage, to a single or multiple opponents, without ever switching your build if you so choose.
All the other professions can only do one or 2 things well then have to switch weapons to do the others, While the GW2 Engineer doesn't have to switch if they do they can almost dominate in any one aspect by switching. an example of this would be switching to your Bomb Kit while you still do damage this skill set is great for Crowd Control / Conditions.
Players I think, that will like this profession the most are, those who like rangers since this class can play a lot like a ranger. Then players who like support professions, the Guild Wars 2 Engineer slides into this role so easily, with healing turret and the Med Kit.
The main question in the character creation that effects your GW 2 Engineers armor is...
My most useful tool is my _____.
Universal Multitool Pack (back)
It's a screwdriver. It's a wrench. It's a lateral displacer! I don't care what you call it; this gadget is one thing I take everywhere with me.
Eagle Eye Goggles (Head)
Nothing sees the world more clearly than a soaring eagle. These goggles allow its wearer to see just as well.
Panscopic Monocle (Head)
The details matter. Whether you're double-checking the wiring on your new explosives or charging the gear shaft on your favorite turret, this monocle lets you see what you need to be seen.
Getting to the Good stuff here. We know the GW 2 Engineer is just gushing all Types of Utility, and switching to kits allows them to become focused on one or 2 aspects, depending on your utility skills and traits.
The Best example of this focusing is the Flamethrower, Once you switch to this with the right utility skills the damage you do is really good, not only that but its a lot of fun as well, Flame charred critters anyone?
