Making Armor Builds
for Your Characters

Female armor hand drawn by richie hollon for this site, light blue and pink colored with a dark pink ribbon laced in the front. So what are armor builds? It is a way of creating armor for your character that best fits your play style.

Like weapon builds, armor builds need to be created on the best possible armor you can get. Also it is only part of the over all build. Once you add in weapon and character builds, then figure out what your skill build is your will have a character that fits your play style and should be loads of fun. Lets begin.

When deciding what you should put on your armor, you need to decide what the most important stats for your character for are and you want it to do.

Lets go over some class specific attributes you might want to think about.

The Tank - Tanks are usually the character that wears the heaviest and strongest armor. What you might want to consider when making their builds are ;

  • Stats that help you do more damage
  • Stats that help your weapon
  • More Health points, this is really important because Tanks take lots of damage
  • Stats that help your character with defense

The Caster - They usually wear the weakest armor. What you might want to consider when making their armor builds are ;

  • Stats that help you have more magic power
  • Stats that make you cast your spells faster
  • More health points, this is not the most important thing for Casters but it does help from time to time.
  • Stats that help you regain your magic power back faster
  • Stats that help you do more spell damage

The Healer -They usually wear the Low to Middle armor. What you might want to consider when making their armor builds are ;
  • Stats that help you have more magic power
  • Stats that make you cast you healing spells faster
  • More health points, this is not the most important thing for Healers but it does help from time to time.
  • Stats that help you regain your magic power back faster
  • Stats that help you do more Healing

The Rouge - They usually wear the Low to Middle armor. What you might want to consider when making their armor builds are ;

  • Stats that help you in your defenses
  • Stats that help you do more damage
  • Stats that help your weapon
  • I bet you can guess this one, that’s right more, health points, they need good health points because they are usually in the middle of close up fights.
I only went over the core types of characters, for those characters that are mixed (or known as a hybrid), you will need to decide what is the most important for that character to do, and put those stats that will let you do that on the armor builds that you make.

I just want to remind everyone when you start to put the stats on the armor to remember to look at everything else that has stats on it that will effect your character. Your weapon and in some games accessories. The goal is to max out the most important stats to your character first then anything else after that.

Now in some games you can increase your defenses to magic and physical damage. If this is important to you I suggest you figure these stats first, then go from there if not make these your 2nd concern.

If there is a cap on stats, basically a maximum on a stat, try not to go over it, because if you do you then have useless points floating out there, that may have been put to better use. If you are couple points short from max that’s ok, usually a point or 2 short is better than going over.

Also never add any useless stats to your character build, especially when it could been used for something good.

Now that your armor builds are done, double check your paper sheet to make sure it is the best possible, with all the other builds. If so go make it and kick some virtual game tail.

As Always
